Break Dancin` in Osaka

July 7, 2010

My fellow runners will be happy to know I started out my morning with a run by the Hiroshima River before having a lazy morning and heading off to Osaka. I arrived an hour later than planned and learned an important lesson about just how timely the trains are here in Japan. Nothing like the BART!

Break Dancin` in the train station. Believe it or not, I jumped in and busted out my moves - or really my one move.

Because I am girl . . . that`s why.

You really can get anything you want in Japan. I even heard it`s legal to own a giraffe here!

The Minami Area of Osaka. The neon lights of this neighborhood at night was the inspiration for the movie Speed Racer and with good reason.
A real moat to deflect attacking ninjas!

Osaka Castle - this would have been more impressive if it hadn`t just been rebuilt in 1931. The original was destroyed in 1615, rebuilt 10 years later and then razed again in 1868.
