I heart Okinawa

July 9 and 10th

If I never return to the States everyone will know why! LOL Okinawa is pure tropical island but with all the American conveniences like easily obtainable vegan food thanks to the military bases. Andy and I have spent two full days playing tourist here which has been fantastic but now it is off to be lazy bums and we have nothing but plans to spend the just rest of today and tomorrow at the beach! In fact we have four scuba tanks in the car and I just heard there are eels and octopi at the coral reef off Maeda Beach . . . Later Gators!

Nothing like being a kid again at the local park . . . roll slides and zip lines!!!

A great view - yes, but this is also the bluff Kuenji where hundreds of Japanese soldiers committed suicide instead of being taking POW.

The Former Japanese Navy Underground HQ. The tunnels below still have the pick marks in them from being hacked out just 65 years ago. I didn't post the photo of the cavern were the Admiral committed suicide with a grenade.

Free Diving Team USA member Ron Smith. He held his breath in the static competition for 6 mins and 30 secs!

I love when you stumble upon random events . . . so good!

The Nago Pineapple Park, complete with a pineapple ride and pineapple wine - guess what Andy and I drank with dinner!

This enormous tank had 3 whale sharks in it!!!! I must have watched the manta rays and whale sharks for an hour - they are incredible!

Andy and I at the Okinawa Aquarium - the whale sharks were amazing, the dolphin show . . . not so much in lieu of The Cove.
